Audacity picks up my external microphone no problems at all. Audacity has lots of tools that you can use to correct audio, it's noise filtering is much better than Camtasia and you can adjust all sorts of other elements. Option 2: Use Audacity (its 'free), and is much more powerful when it comes to editing audio. I believe there is an issue with Voice narration not refreshing USB ports.

The thing that I keep coming back to with regards to drivers / settings / set up. I guess in order to fix a bug, you first have to acknowledge the bug exists, then you can start to address it. I downloaded and tested their latest update, the bug still exists. but sadly, they're not!īerndbausch - FYI - I noticed you are not on the latest version of Camtasia, but I would NOT recommend upgrading to the latest version if you think it is going to fix the bug. I upgraded to 2020 in the hope that some of these types of bugs would be fixed. It is an incredible waste of time having to restart the software all the time. So, it's not a hardware issue, it is specific to Camtasia and specific to voice narration and mostly fixes when Camtasia restarts.
